Walk the Plank is a multimedia weblog literacy project for Gateshead schools.
The blog encourages young people to add to the adventures of the ship's crew using text, images, audio and video.
The stories of the entirely fearsome and frankly smelly Sealegs Ethel can either be read online or downloaded as a bi-weekly podcast.
Pirates participating in our workshop sessions at Gateshead City Learning Centre get to create their own crew member and upload the details to the weblog. They can then upload original pirate artwork to the ship's Gallery.
Having listened to a podcast of the initial story they can then record their own versions and upload them directly to the site. Meantime, Pirate TV will be interviewing the scurvy dogs using chromakey technology. These videos will be available for viewing on this site.
